School Council News

This year the school council has been awarded a silver PADL award.

PADL stands for promoting active democracy loudly

The Primary PADL Award scheme recognises schools
with a School Council, and awards schools for differing
levels of quality and commitment towards their School
Council, starting with a bronze award, and rising
through silver to gold and finally platinum.

The PADL award is a great idea because it involves peer assessment of the school council or pupil parliament by children or young people from other schools. Our council was judged to make a real difference to the life of the school; they represent their peers fully, manage their budget efficiently and contribute to the School Development Plan.

Next year we intend to apply for the gold award.
